In 2018, Madagascar's gas turbine imports surged to approximately $630,000, marking a significant 34.4% increase from the previous year's total of around $470,000. Despite this recent uptick, the country's demand for gas turbines has seen a long-term decline, decreasing by an average of 6.8% annually since 1995. On the export front, Madagascar also experienced substantial growth. The value of gas turbine exports reached about $420,000 in 2018, a remarkable 77.4% rise from the 2017 figure of roughly $235,000. However, similar to import trends, the overall supply of gas turbines from Madagascar has been on a downward trajectory, dropping by 29.7% annually over the same period since 1995.
