The import of gas turbines in Algeria is projected to decline significantly over the next five years. By 2028, the import value is expected to reach approximately $132 million, down from around $276 million in 2023. This represents a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) decline of 11.7%. Historically, Algerian demand for gas turbines has been on a downward trajectory. Since 1997, the country has experienced an annual decrease of 8% in its demand for these turbines. On the export front, Algeria's performance has also seen a dramatic decline. In 2016, the country's gas turbine exports were valued at close to $1,350, a sharp drop from roughly $15,000 in 2015. This marks a staggering 91% decrease compared to the previous year. Longer-term data indicates a steady fall in Algerian gas turbine supply. Since 2002, the nation's export supply has diminished by 61.1% annually.
