Mauritian nickel imports are set to reach around $116,600 by 2026. This growth of 1.1% per year on average reflects the trend since 1998, when imports increased by 2.3% annually. In 2021, Mauritius ranked 108th in the world in terms of nickel imports, with Guyana just ahead of them at $109,660. The United States, Japan, and Norway were the world's second, third, and fourth-largest importers, respectively. On the other side of the coin, Mauritian nickel exports decreased to $826 in 2018 from $964 in 2017, a drop of 14.3%. In the 16 years since 2002, exports have declined by 42.7% each year. Mauritius ranked 104th in the world in 2018, with Bosnia and Herzegovina in the lead at $826. The United States, Russia, and Germany were the second, third, and fourth-largest exporters, respectively.
