By 2028, the country's electricity output is expected to reach approximately 2.4 terawatt-hours, down from 4.3 terawatt-hours in 2023. This marks an average annual decrease of around 9.5%. Despite this projected decline, Lithuania had previously seen growth in its electricity supply. Since 1990, the country experienced an average annual increase of 4.3%. In the global rankings for 2023, Lithuania was positioned at number 76. It was just behind Latvia, which also generated around 4.3 terawatt-hours of electricity. Leading the rankings were the United States, India, and Russia, occupying the second, third, and fourth spots, respectively.
