Batswana Iron Ore Imports are projected to decline to approximately $20,850 by 2028, down from around $21,440 in 2023. This marks an average annual decrease of 0.4%. Since 2005, the country's demand for iron ore has decreased at an average rate of 1.7% per year. In 2023, Botswana ranked 66th globally in iron ore imports, with Malta surpassing it at the same import value of roughly $21,440. Leading the global rankings, Japan, South Korea, and Germany held the second, third, and fourth positions, respectively. On the export front, Botswana's iron ore exports plummeted to $559 in 2017 from $1,350 in 2016, a staggering 58.6% decrease compared to the previous year. However, from 2012 onwards, the country's iron ore supply has experienced a modest annual growth rate of 0.8%.
