DUBLIN, Ireland – The registration of electric vehicles (EVs) in Ireland is projected to soar to approximately 20,900 units by 2028, up from about 12,000 units in 2023. This growth represents an annual compound growth rate (CAGR) of 8.6%. Since 2019, the Irish EV market has witnessed a remarkable annual increase of 43.6%. However, in the 2023 global rankings, Ireland held the 18th position, with the Czech Republic surpassing it with a similar registration figure of around 12,000 units. In the same ranking, Sweden, Italy, and the Netherlands secured the second, third, and fourth positions, respectively, indicating strong performances in EV adoption within these countries.
