China’s livestock production is predicted to reach 217 million heads by 2026, down 1% from 229.6 million heads in 2021. This marks a 2.8% decrease since 1966. India, Brazil and the United States follow China in this ranking. The country is also expecting to import $467 million worth of livestock in 2026, up 1.3% since 2021. This is a 1.9% increase since 1997. Canada is the largest importer, with Germany, Italy and the Netherlands coming in second, third and fourth respectively.
