This is a 0% change from 2021, when the country was in 43rd place in terms of production, with 8.97 million heads. Italy overtook Japan to take the lead in 2021, while Brazil, India and the United States were the next three in line. On the other hand, Japanese livestock imports are forecast to reach $292 million by 2026, a 1.3% CAGR increase since 1993. This will make Japan 20th in the world in 2021, with Russia leading the pack at $270 million. Germany, Italy and the Netherlands were numbers 2, 3 and 4 respectively in this ranking.
