Slovenian livestock production is projected to dip slightly in the coming five years. The country was at 137th place in 2021, with a total of around 410,000 heads of livestock. This annual rate of decrease is 0.4%, which has been the same since 1997. Countries just ahead of Slovenia in this ranking were Trinidad and Tobago with 411,000 heads. The top three countries for livestock production were Brazil, India and the United States. Slovenian livestock imports are expected to grow over the next five years, with an average rate of 1.8%. Since 1999, demand has increased by 6.2% year on year. In 2021, the country was 53rd in the ranking, with Lithuania slightly ahead at $38.5 million. Germany, Italy and the Netherlands were the top three countries for livestock imports.
