The country's expenditure on environmental protection is expected to grow at an average rate of 0.5% each year, rising from €19,380 million in 2021 to €19,990 million in 2026. Since 2015, Spain's expenditure on environmental protection has grown 2.7% annually. In 2021, the country ranked sixth in Europe, with the Netherlands coming in first at €19,380 million. France, the United Kingdom and Italy ranked second, third and fourth in the same year.
