Dutch environmental protection expenditure is forecast to hit €20 billion by 2026. From 2017 to 2021, it rose by an average of 1.6% every year, reaching €19.4 billion in 2021. That puts the Netherlands fifth in the global rankings, with Italy at the top with €19.4 billion. France, the UK and Italy were second, third and fourth respectively.
