Hungarian environmental protection expenditure is set to reach €2.2 billion by 2026. This is a 0.6% year-on-year decrease on the €2.27 billion recorded in 2021. Since 2017, the demand has decreased by an average of 0.5% each year. In 2021, Hungary ranked 17th for environmental protection expenditure. Portugal came first, with €2.27 billion, followed by France, the UK and Italy in 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively.
