Tanzanian demand for polyvinyl acetate is projected to drop slightly over the next five years. In 2021, the country imported 342,770 kilograms of the material, making it the 80th largest importer in the world. Lebanon was the leading importer at the same time, importing more than double Tanzanian imports. Italy, the United States and France followed as the next biggest importers. Since 2001, Tanzanian imports of polyvinyl acetate have declined by 2.7% each year on average. By 2026, the country is expected to import 335,190 kilograms of the material, a decrease of 0.6% from 2021.
