In 2023, Norway ranked fourth in non-ferrous metal imports, trailing France, which also recorded 5.3 million metric tons. Spain and France held the second and third positions, respectively, in the rankings. On the export front, Norwegian non-ferrous metal exports are expected to grow to 3 million metric tons by 2028, from 2.9 million metric tons in 2023, maintaining an average annual growth rate of 0.7%. Since 1995, Norway's supply of non-ferrous metals has risen by 2.1% each year. In 2023, Norway was the fifth largest exporter of non-ferrous metals, surpassed by the Netherlands, which also had 2.9 million metric tons. Spain, France, and the Netherlands occupied the second, third, and fourth positions, respectively, in the export rankings.
