In 2023, Greece ranked 11th in non-ferrous metal imports, with Belgium narrowly ahead at 2.27 million metric tons. Leading the ranks were Spain, France, and Norway, occupying the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th positions respectively. On the export front, Greece is expected to reach roughly 1.75 million metric tons by 2028, an increase from the 1.68 million metric tons recorded in 2023. This indicates a modest annual growth rate of 0.7%. However, since 2005, Greek non-ferrous metal exports have declined by about 1.1% each year. In 2023, Greece also held the 11th spot in non-ferrous metal exports, with the United Kingdom slightly ahead, also at 1.68 million metric tons. Spain, France, and the Netherlands took the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th positions in this ranking, respectively.
