India is set to become the fourth-largest alumina producer in the world by 2026. According to recent data, the country's production of alumina is projected to reach 8,190 thousand metric tons in 2026. This would mark a 2.4% year-on-year growth rate since 2021. Since 2003, Indian alumina production has grown steadily at a rate of 3.4% year-on-year. In 2021, Brazil overtook India to become the third-largest producer with 7,120 thousand metric tons. Australia and Brazil ranked second and third, respectively, while India came in fourth.
