Bruneian demand for granite is projected to rise by 1.6% a year up to 2026, with total import volumes reaching 9.1 million kilos. Since 1997, demand has grown exponentially, increasing by 180%. In 2021, Brunei ranked 21st in the world for granite imports, with 8.1 million kilos. The US ranked first at 81.1 million kilos, while the UK, Russia, and Denmark ranked second, third, and fourth respectively. However, Brunei's granite exports have fallen dramatically since 2017. 2018 exports totalled just 69 kilos, down 84% from the previous year and 61.9% since 2015.
