Indonesian imports of silica sand are forecast to fall by 14% in the next five years. In 2021, the country imported 14.5 million kilograms, making it the 55th largest importer in the world. Bosnia and Herzegovina was the leading importer. Slovenia, Singapore and Belgium followed in second, third and fourth place respectively. Since 1994, Indonesian exports saw a decrease of 33.5% year on year. In 2018, the country was placed 82nd in the world rankings, with Uganda taking the lead at 12,060 kilograms. The United States, Belgium and Germany were the top three exporters in this ranking.
