Demand for Montenegrin Silica Sand is set to drop 6.6% a year on average until 2026. In 2021, the country was in 77th place in the international ranking, with an import of 1,250,200 kilograms. Ethiopia was the leading importer with 1,856,200 kilograms. Slovenia, Singapore and Belgium held the next three places. Exports of Montenegrin Silica Sand have fallen dramatically since 2017, when 1,500 kilograms were shipped out. By 2018, this had dropped to just 1 kilogram, putting Montenegro in 97th place in the world rankings. Barbados took first place, and the United States, Belgium and Germany followed.
