Spain's hotel industry is projected to see a modest growth in available rooms over the next five years. The number of available hotel rooms in Spain is expected to reach approximately 996,000 by 2028, up from around 955,000 in 2023. This represents an average annual growth rate of 0.7%. Since 1995, the supply of hotel rooms in Spain has consistently risen at an average rate of 0.5% per year. As of 2023, Spain ranks third in the number of available hotel rooms, trailing behind Germany, which has overtaken Spain with the same number of rooms, approximately 955,000. Germany, Spain, and France hold the second, third, and fourth positions respectively in this ranking. The hotel occupancy rate in Spain, however, has experienced fluctuations. In December 2021, the occupancy level stood at 45.7%, a decline from the 54.8% recorded in November 2021. This is also a notable change when compared to the same period a year earlier.
