European Import of Fresh Pastry Goods and Cakes by Country

Germany leads in the European import of fresh pastry goods and cakes with 247.43 million kilograms, showing an 8.21% year-on-year increase. The United Kingdom follows with 176.53 million kilograms, up by 4.26%. France's imports rose significantly by 9.52% to 112.39 million kilograms. Belgium and the Netherlands, with imports of 89.991 and 83.735 million kilograms, recorded increases of 7.22% and 18.23% respectively. Italy saw a modest increase of 1.74% to 53.76 million kilograms, while Spain experienced a slight decline of 0.26%, bringing its total to 48.292 million kilograms.

In the mid-range, countries including Austria (43.645 million kilograms, up 3.47%), Romania (41.004 million kilograms, up 5.89%), and Portugal (38.593 million kilograms with a 2.8% increase) also exhibited positive growth. Hungary and Poland followed with 34.492 and 30.633 million kilograms, marking year-on-year growth of 3.31% and 4.44% respectively.

The lower-tier countries like Ireland, Denmark, and Sweden imported 25.567, 23.264, and 17.731 million kilograms, recording increases of 7.83%, 3.6%, and 11.2% respectively. Other notable year-on-year growth figures include Croatia (7.94%), Slovakia (7.88%), Greece (2.7%), and Bulgaria (7.22%). Smaller markets such as Finland, Slovenia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Latvia, Estonia, Malta, and Cyprus all experienced varying degrees of growth, except for Finland which showed a marginal increase of just 0.2%.

Future trends to watch include the potential for continued growth in markets that have shown strong recent increases, such as the Netherlands, France, and Lithuania.
