This was followed by a considerable decrease in 2016 by 39.17%, after which the demand continued to fluctuate with notable increases of 76.98% in 2018 and a decline of 6.79% in 2019. By 2023, the demand stood at 754.0 thousand metric tons, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 3.71%. The five-year CAGR up to 2023 was 1.73%, indicating a moderate but consistent growth trend.
Forecasts from 2024 onward suggest a steady increase in soybean oil demand, reaching 892.06 thousand metric tons by 2028, with a projected five-year CAGR of 2.65% and an overall growth rate of 13.94%
