European Biogases Final Consumption in Chemical and Petrochemical Sectors by Country

In 2023, European biogas consumption in the chemical and petrochemical sectors varied significantly among countries. Germany leads with a consumption of 266.96 GWh, followed by Austria at 152.53 GWh, and France at 109.17 GWh. Germany saw a 17.89% rise year-on-year, Austria increased by 13.64%, and France experienced a notable 45.84% surge. Belgium and Norway also grew by 6.13% and 13.38% respectively. Conversely, Italy saw a slight reduction of 2.1%, while Spain remained stable with no change. Sweden's consumption soared by 142.75%, indicating a strong upward trend. On the other hand, Romania, Czech Republic, Estonia, and Poland saw declines, with Poland experiencing the most significant drop at 16.62%.

Looking to the future, the biogas market in Europe is expected to witness varying trends.
