Forecast: Nuclear Energy Generation in China

Since 2013, nuclear energy generation in China has seen a remarkable upward trend, growing from 111.5 TWh to 439.36 TWh in 2023. The year-on-year growth has been substantial, especially between 2013-2019, where annual increases ranged from 13.41% to 28.64%. However, from 2020 onwards, the growth rate has noticeably slowed, with a year-on-year variation of only 5.16% in 2023. The Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) also reflects this deceleration, reducing from 21.48% in 2018 to 8.29% in 2023.

From 2024, nuclear energy generation is projected to grow at a slower but steady pace, reaching 517.53 TWh by 2028. The forecasted 5-year CAGR is at 2.55%, suggesting a deceleration compared to previous years.
