European Heat Energy Supply by Country

The European heat energy supply landscape in 2024 varied significantly across countries. Ukraine led with 8.17 TWh, reflecting a 5.4% increase from 2023, signaling strong growth. The Netherlands and Poland also showed significant increases, growing by 11.41% and 8.78%, respectively, indicating a strengthening in their heat energy sectors. Conversely, Denmark and Finland experienced declines, with decreases of 1.91% and 0.2%. Other countries like Belgium and Lithuania showed stable growth, around 0.25% and 0.81% respectively, while Czech Republic remains stagnant with no change.

Looking ahead, Europe’s heat energy supply could see further diversification and innovation. Focus areas include decarbonization, integration of renewables, and improving efficiency, particularly in high-growth countries like Ukraine and the Netherlands.
