European Production of Basic Pharmaceutical Products by Country

Germany is the leader in European production of basic pharmaceutical products with 1.4469 billion kilograms. It experienced a modest YoY increase of 0.83%. The Netherlands, while much smaller at 0.081995 billion kilograms, saw a significant YoY increase of 23.41%. Italy, Belgium, and Spain have smaller production volumes but show varying trends: Italy decreased by 18.59%, Belgium increased by 0.9%, and Spain decreased by 4.53%. Among smaller producers, Austria, Finland, and France showed stability or modest growth. Conversely, the United Kingdom, Denmark, and Poland experienced notable YoY declines in production.

Noteworthy is Romania with a significant 38.01% increase, while Lithuania experienced an exceptional 120.3% rise from a much smaller base. The rest of the countries contributed minimally to the total European production, with minimal to no variation observed year-on-year.

Future trends to watch for include the potential for continuous high growth in countries like the Netherlands and Romania, along with Lithuania's rapid rise from a smaller base. Companies in larger markets such as Germany and Belgium might focus on maintaining stability and incremental growth, while southern European countries need to address their declining production rates to stay competitive.
