European Primary Solid Biofuels Energy Supply by Country

In 2023, Germany led the European primary solid biofuels energy supply with 14.63 million tonnes of oil equivalent. France and Sweden followed with 10.73 and 10.26 million tonnes, respectively. The United Kingdom and Poland also had substantial contributions. Key year-on-year variations were observed in the Netherlands (+23.51%), Serbia (+13.37%), and Slovakia (+13.03%), indicating significant growth in these markets. Notably, there was a marked decline in Iceland (-59.02%), driven by changing priorities or market conditions.

Looking ahead, the focus will likely be on sustainable growth across European countries, optimization of biofuel resources, and adaptation to global environmental policies.
