The company was established back in November 1886. Its current name, after the original founder – Robert Bosch – was only established in 1937. In the beginning, the supplier was named Workshop for Precision Mechanics and Electrical Engineering.

But this name wasn’t wrong, because that’s what the firm was doing – electrical engineering and first-class mechanical work. The firm originated near Stuttgart, Germany, even though it now has a worldwide contribution to the global automotive industry.

Now the company’s main production is focused on automotive components as well as production of his primary competitor, Continental. As an example, the company is a leader in the manufacturing of brakes, electrical drives, fuel systems, controls, electronics, generators, steering products, and starter motors.
