Burundi is set to see a steady increase in insecticide imports between 2021 and 2026. The imports are expected to rise from 273,000 to 325,000 kilograms, representing a growth of 2.7% each year on average. Since 1998, imports have grown by 15.8% annually. Exports of insecticides from Burundi are also forecasted to increase, from 2,360 to 2,950 kilograms in 2026, at a rate of 3.5% year on year. Since 2017, however, exports have decreased by 4.3% annually. In 2021, Burundi ranked 99th in terms of exports, behind Macedonia. India, the United States and Indonesia were the top three exporters respectively.
