Vietnamese pulp imports are expected to reach half a million metric tons by 2026, growing at a rate of 2.8% year on year since 1973. In 2021, the country ranked 22nd, with Canada ahead at 423,600 metric tons. The United States, Germany and Italy came in at 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively. Vietnamese pulp exports, however, are headed in the opposite direction. By 2026, the country is expected to export only 3 metric tons, a 76.1% decrease compared to 2021, when exports were at 4,960 metric tons. Since 1999, exports were up 30.6% year on year. In 2021, Malaysia was ahead of Vietnam with 4,960 metric tons, while Canada, the United States and Chile ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively.
