Since 1997, the country has seen a 1.1% yearly growth in supply. In 2021, Uruguay overtook Russia, being the 9th largest exporter of pulp with 2,426,300 metric tons. Canada, the United States and Chile respectively ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th in this ranking.
