Cameroon's imports of synthetic rubber are expected to decrease by 29.4% this year, reaching $25,820. This is down from $167,700 in 2021, when the country ranked 114th in the world. In 2000, its imports grew by 54.6% year on year. New Caledonia was the leading importer in 2021, followed by the United States, Germany and Malaysia. Meanwhile, Cameroonian exports of synthetic rubber jumped by 42.7% in 2017, reaching $32,000 from $22,440 the year before. However, since 2000, the country's supplies have decreased by 38.2% year on year. In 2017, Cameroon ranked 82nd in the world, with Zimbabwe ahead of it at $32,000. Thailand, the United States and Japan followed as the second, third and fourth leading exporters.
