This marks a 7.4 percent decrease compared to the previous year. Since 1999, the demand for synthetic rubber in Malta has been consistently decreasing, with an average annual decline of 7.9 percent. Exports fell to just $928, down from $2,500 in 2017. This represents a steep 62.8 percent decrease from the previous year. Over the long term, Maltese synthetic rubber exports have faced a dramatic decline, with an average annual reduction of 65.3 percent since 1999.
