Icelandic freight volumes are set to reach 1.3 billion tonne kilometres by 2026, growing at a 1.7% annual rate of change. Since 2006, freight supply in Iceland has increased 2.4% per year on average. In 2021, the country was in 45th place, overtaken by Armenia with 1.18 billion tonne kilometres. The United States, Russia and India were respectively ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th. Revenues for Icelandic freight transportation totalled €160.1 million in 2018, up from €159 million in 2017. The country was in 31st position in 2018, overtaken by Cyprus with €160.1 million. France, Germany and Poland were ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively.
