Pakistan's crude oil production is projected to hit 4.2 million tonnes of oil equivalent by 2026, up from 4 million tonnes in 2021. This represents an average annual growth rate of 0.5 per cent since 1976, when the country began recording a slight decrease of 0.9 per cent year-on-year. Pakistan currently ranks 40th in the world for crude oil production, with Brunei surpassing them with 4 million tonnes. Saudi Arabia, the United States and Iraq rank second, third and fourth respectively.
