In 2018, South Africa imported 15.3 million headphones, a 21.4% increase from 2017. This put the country in 11th place, overtaken by Chile with 15.3 million units. The United States, China and Brazil respectively came in at 2nd, 3rd, and 4th in the rankings. Exports of headphones from South Africa also saw a significant increase in 2018, with 685,000 units, a 50.3% increase from 2017. This placed the country at 28th in the rankings, overtaken by Greece with 685,000 units. The United States, Germany and Belgium respectively were 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the rankings. Since 2005, the supply of headphones from South Africa has increased 46.4% year on year.
