Nearly 148,000 Portuguese headphones were exported in 2018, a 27.9% increase over the 115,620 units exported in 2017. 2005 was the peak year for Portuguese headphone exports, with 163,000 units exported; since then, the number of exported units has decreased by almost 10%. Portugal placed 40th in the 2018 headphone export rankings, behind Romania, which exported 147,820 units. The United States, Germany, and Belgium were the top three headphone exporters, respectively.
