Last year, Germany overtook Portugal to become the number 8 sandstone exporter. Poland, Belgium, and Spain followed in second, third, and fourth place respectively. The country's sandstone imports, on the other hand, have dropped by 100% since 2002. In 2019, Portugal imported €0, compared to €9,220 the year before. Hungary took first place in 2019, with Belgium, the Netherlands, and Romania coming in second, third, and fourth.
