Romanian sandstone exports have dropped 5% since 2020, reaching €18.3 million in 2021. This marks a 31.2% increase since 2005. Greece overtook Romania to become the 14th largest exporter of sandstone in 2021. Poland, Belgium and Spain were ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively. Imports of sandstone into Romania are forecast to reach €4.6 million by 2026, up from €3.6 million in 2021. This equates to an average annual growth rate of 3.6% since 2005. Romania is the 4th largest importer of sandstone in 2021, with the Netherlands taking the top spot. Belgium, the Netherlands and Romania ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively.
