Slovak sandstone imports dropped to just over 16,000 euros in 2021, a decrease of 12.8% on the previous year. Since 2004, the demand in Slovakia has fallen by a quarter. The country was 18th in the 2021 rankings, behind Lithuania, which had an import of 16,540 euros. Belgium, the Netherlands and Romania were the 2nd, 3rd and 4th most successful importers. Meanwhile, Slovak sandstone exports climbed to 50 euros in 2019, compared to zero the year before. This represented a 4.6% annual growth since 2004. Slovakia was 22nd in the 2019 rankings, behind Finland which had an export of 50 euros. Poland, Belgium and Spain placed 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively.
