Portugal's imports of milk powder are projected to drop to about 4.2 million kilograms by 2026, down from 4.8 million kilograms in 2021. This represents a yearly average decline of 2.1%, a trend that has been ongoing since 1993 when the country saw a 1.2% year-on-year drop. In 2021, the Czech Republic was the leading importer at 4.8 million kilograms, followed by the Philippines, Indonesia and Algeria. Exports of milk powder from Portugal, meanwhile, are anticipated to reach 20.8 million kilograms by 2026, up from 17 million kilograms in 2021. This represents an average annual growth of 3.2%, with a steady increase since 1993 when the country's supply grew 6.8% year-on-year. Last year, the Czech Republic was the leading exporter at 17 million kilograms, followed by Germany, New Zealand and France.
