Maltese condiment exports are projected to plunge by 30 percent annually over the next five years, from $1.5 million in 2021 to $212,000 in 2026. The country has seen a 9.9 percent decrease year-on-year since 1999. In 2021, Malta was ranked 83rd in terms of exports, overtaken by Armenia at $1.5 million. China, Germany and Italy respectively occupied the second, third and fourth spots. Maltese condiment imports, meanwhile, are expected to increase by 1.7 percent annually until 2026, from $10.9 million in 2021 to $12.1 million. The country has had an average yearly growth of 4.7 percent since 1999. Zambia overtook Malta in 2021, with imports valued at $10.9 million, while the UK, Canada and France respectively came in second, third and fourth.
