Historically, Egypt's grain supply has shown a robust average annual increase of 5.5% since 1966. Despite this steady growth, Egypt ranked 25th globally in grain production in 2023. In that year, Iran surpassed Egypt with a production total also close to 23 million metric tons. Leading the global rankings were the United States, India, and Brazil, securing the second, third, and fourth positions, respectively.
