New Zealand's rapeseed production reached 529 metric tons in 2021, a decrease of 18.1% compared to the 646 metric tons recorded in 2020. This is the lowest level since 1966, when production had fallen by 14.5% year-on-year. In 2021, New Zealand ranked 59th, while South Korea took the lead with 529 metric tons. China, India and France followed in second, third and fourth place respectively. In 2018, New Zealand's rapeseed consumption totalled 1,000 metric tons, unchanged from 2017. This placed the country at 30th, while Ecuador came in first with 1,000 metric tons. Canada, Germany and Spain followed in second, third and fourth place respectively.
