Consumption of rapeseed in Romania is expected to remain flat at 3 thousand metric tons by 2026. Since 2017, demand for the crop has been stable, ranking 18th in the world in 2021. China topped the list with 3 thousand metric tons, followed by Canada, Germany and Spain. In terms of production, Romania is projected to produce 1.2 million metric tons of rapeseed in 2026, growing at a rate of 1.6% year on year. This is a decrease of 2.7% since 1966, putting the country in 13th place globally in 2021. The Czech Republic took the lead with 1.1 million metric tons, followed by China, India and France.
