This is an 11.9% increase since 2012. In 2021, the UK overtook Russia as the largest exporter, at $4.2 billion. The UK, Russia and the US are the top three platinum exporters in the world. Russia is also set to become the 30th largest importer of platinum by 2026. Its imports are projected to grow 4.4% annually on average, reaching $27 million in the next five years. This is a 37.4% increase since 2012. In 2021, Spain was the top importer, at $21 million. Germany, Japan and the UK are the next three biggest importers of platinum.
