Global imports of platinum are projected to reach $31 billion by 2026, up 0.3% from 2021's figure of $30.9 billion. Since 2016, demand has increased by 10% each year. In 2021, the United States was the biggest importer of platinum, with $6.1 billion worth of imports. Germany, Japan, and the United Kingdom were the next biggest importers in that order. Bermuda had the largest increase in imports with a 214.3% year-on-year rise, while Kazakhstan had the largest decrease at 63.3%. Meanwhile, global exports of platinum are expected to reach $35 billion by 2026, up 1.4% from 2021's figure of $32.9 billion. Since 2017, supply has increased by 10.5% each year. South Africa was the biggest exporter of platinum in 2021, shipping out $7.9 billion worth. The United Kingdom, Russia, and the United States followed in that order. Peru had the largest rise in exports with a 555.1% year-on-year increase, while Estonia had the biggest drop at 69.7%.
