Demand for Bahraini crude oil is expected to reach 1.1 million metric tonnes in January 2022, a 28.4% increase from the 969 thousand metric tonnes recorded in December 2021. This marks a 6.4% year-on-year rise since June 2018. Meanwhile, Bahraini crude oil production is anticipated to reach 10,000 thousand tonnes of oil equivalent by 2026, up 0.1% on average year-on-year since 1976. In 2021, the country ranked 35th in the world, overtaken by Turkmenistan at 9,800 thousand tonnes of oil equivalent. Saudi Arabia, the United States and Iraq were respectively the second, third and fourth highest suppliers in this ranking.
