Meanwhile, Portugal's pork consumption is forecast to hit 411,000 tonnes in 2026, down by 0.1% year-on-year on average from the 412,000 tonnes seen in 2021. Since 2017, Portuguese demand has decreased by 0.5% year-on-year. Portugal was in 29th place in 2021, with Austria coming in ahead of it at 412,000 tonnes. The United States, Russia and Vietnam were ranked second, third and fourth respectively.
