Bulgaria's beef consumption is set to drop slightly over the next five years, according to a recent report. The report finds that consumption is expected to decline from 24 thousand metric tons in 2021 to 23 thousand metric tons in 2026, a decrease of 0.9% annually. This follows a 1.4% year-on-year decline since 2017. At the same time, Bulgarian beef production is also set to decline. The report states that production will fall from 15,210 metric tons in 2021 to 11,150 metric tons in 2026, a decrease of 5.2% annually. This follows a 2.7% year-on-year decline since 1966. In 2021, Bulgaria ranked 123rd in beef production, behind Oman. Brazil, China, and Argentina placed second, third, and fourth in the ranking, respectively.
